The Statement Dress

“You know you need one. Even if you already have one, invest in another one. It makes your life so easy when you’re rushing for time - throw on the dress, get your shoes and bag and you’re ready to jet.

It might be one with quirky prints (think: safari or floral) or a simple, timeless classic black. It could be body-hugging conscious, one-shouldered or one with amazing luxe shoulder pads. You may accessorize with a belt to cinch your waist. It will enhance your silhouette and you will be thankful to me. Wear a girly dress with tough heels for a fun twist and layer the necklaces or mix with heaps of cuffs.

Only ever wear tights with a dress if it is above knee-level. Try not to buy a long dress that falls onto your toes unless you are going for a formal occasion or tall enough to pull off a maxi-dress. Also, wear heels even if you are tall enough. Wear edgy, dangerous-looking heels that make you cry just by looking at them. Leave your flats for going to the beach. Do not ever buy a dress if its length falls just at your calves, it just makes you look unstructured. Pair a dress with a shouldered blazer, leather jacket or a coat. Never ever wear a dress with jeans, skinny or not, I will come into your dreams and haunt you.

Make sure your dress is insanely mouthwatering so you can make your friends jealous. This should be your ultimate goal. Remember to smile when you are strutting your dress on the streets or you may come across as an aggressive vulture.”
